Prof. Harry Phineas Block is a character in the evolution franchise who appears in both the Film and the Animated series. In both series, he is friends with Ira Kane, who he works with to investigate the Genus threat.
In the film he is a geology professor (and coach of Women's Volleyball) who is just as knowledge about science as Ira but in the Animated series he is the colleges football coach who mainly talks about sport.

He first appears in the film where we he is working as a geology professor alongside his friend Ira Kane, a fellow professor who teaches biologist and chemist. T|hey discover and start to investigate the genus, taking a sample of strange blue liquid that oozes from it.Ira discovers that it harbors extraterrestrial single-celled nitrogen-based organisms multiplying exponentially, condensing millions of years of evolution within minutes.
The next day, they take the science class to survey the meteor site and find it already surrounded by evolved oxygen-converting fungi and alien flatworms, later discovering the cells and organisms reproduce rapidly through mitosis.

The animated series, Alienators: Evolution Continues (Evolution: the Animated Series in the UK), starts a couple of months after the events of the 2001 comedy sci-fi, film and opens with Ira and Harry watching a new report on final scene of the film.
